MayoChup & Co.

One obvious difference between the US and Germany is grocery shopping. Not only are the stores much bigger, also the products are different.

One good example are potato chips, where the German typical Paprika taste is simply not available in the US. Another example are condiments. Here in the US, I found a few interesting new choices:

  • MayoMust - Mayonnaise mixed with Mustard
  • MayoCue - Mayonnaise mixed with Barbecue Sauce
  • MayoChup - Maynonaise mixed with Ketchup - what we would call Rot-Weiss or Schranke in Germany
  • Kranch - Ketchup and Ranch Dressing. For the friends back home, Ranch is the sauce you cannot live without in the Midwest. You even dip your pizza into it.
